Use Free Business eBooks to Start an Online Business

Monday, January 2nd, 2012

If you are interested in either starting or improving on an internet business, but don’t have a lot of money to invest, you can use ebooks to help you at various spots along the way. You can use ebooks for everything, including:

researching a niche finding products to support your niche designing a website writing sales copy finding a web host writing an ebook how to write google ads how to make money with google ads setting up a website to accept payments from customers all other aspects of making money online!

I found that, when I started my first online business, I couldn’t justify spending a lot of money until I was sure that I would make money online. So, what I did is search for free information on whatever my current challenge was. For example, if I wanted to know how to set up paypal, I searched on Yahoo or Google for free ebooks on setting up paypal. Also, in this particular example, I checked paypal’s website and found all of the information I needed right there for free.

If you are just starting out and have no idea where to start, I would suggest that you look for a “niche market”, which is a group of people who are searching the net to solve a particular problem and not finding a solution – a solution that you can provide. The best niche markets are those that are in your area of expertise. In order to find free business ebooks on finding a niche, go to Google or Yahoo and search “free niche ebook” or “free create niche ebook” or whatever else you think will give you the best results. Be sure to remove the quotes before you enter the keywords into Google or Yahoo, if you want. Leaving the quotes in will only return results that have those keywords in the exact order that you typed them and no variations. You will get much more specific results, however, you may miss out on results that you would have gotten from “free ebook on niche markets” (without quotes).

A website that you may find useful is http://www.free-ebooks.net which contains free business ebooks on a variety of subjects.

The only word of caution I would give you is to be sure to look at the date of publication of the ebooks you use as a resource. Things on the internet are changing all of the time, so something written in 2000 is likely not applicable now, if the subject is something like search engine optimization. Anyway, take what works for you and leave the rest, but you will still end up with a ton of free business ebook information on starting an online business. Good luck!

Traditional Books Vs E-Books

Monday, January 2nd, 2012

Traditional books have been around since time immemorial. They have taken up an important position in our life. They are a constant source of knowledge and provide textual information to the global society. The traditional books have their own market demand.

E-books on the other hand have emerged as the new contender in the market of reading. E-books have become quite a rage with the latest technological advancement. The e-books are nothing but the digital version of traditional books. People can take the service of online bookstores which provide both traditional books as well as e-books.

With the emergence of e-books, it has become a matter of debate, as to which one is better, traditional book or e-book. So here are a few points on which a short comparison has been drawn between them:

• Portability

The e-book readers are really handy to carry and the number of e-books you can carry is also high. Three to six books can be carried at a time, and if the available memory is high then more books can be carried.

While on the other hand, it is sometimes difficult to carry even one printed book, thus giving an edge to the e-books.

• Features

The digital books have features which enable easy sharing among your circle. Certain phrases can also be found easily in e-books.

These features are not available in traditional books.

• Durability

The e-books are durable and they won’t get damaged with time as in the case of traditional books.

The pages of the traditional books get damaged with time, thus making it impossible to read after a few years.

• Cost effective

E-books prove to be quite cost effective as compared to traditional books. In the long run, the e-books are found out to be more pocket friendly than the traditional books.

E-books when bought in bulk can become quite cheap.

• Use of devices

Traditional books do not need any device for reading. They do not have to depend on batteries. People reading traditional books can get access to them anytime, anywhere.

Whereas in case of e-books, e-reader is necessary, this often needs to be charged for providing access to the people to use them.

• Resale value

Traditional books have a resale value as compared to e-books. It is possible to resell an ordinary book if needed, but e-books cannot be sold once bought. Thus e-books do not have a resale value.

All said and done, it is still early to say that e-books have taken up the market of traditional books. There is still a large portion of the society who favors traditional books over e-books. Online businesses like online bookstores offer both types of books, be it traditional or be it e-books. The difference is just that e-books are delivered quickly whereas traditional books take up some time to be delivered depending on the location of the user.

Start Your Own eBooks Business

Would it be nice to unwind with a good book? Would it be great to curl up before your fire on a snowy winter morning, with only a good book to keep you company? Would it be lovely to bask in the summer sun, with your toes in the sand, and an engaging book in your hands? Would it be wonderful to sleep at night to a good book, so that you are lulled to the best of dreams?

Sadly, being able to read and enjoy good books is fast becoming a precious commodity. We all have our busy office schedules, so that we can hardly stay away from our laptops because we have to finish an important report or design an important presentation for the big boss. We all have our busy school schedules, so that we have to hit the lesson books and notebooks before we can find the time to unwind and get the books we really like that is, if we can actually find the time to unwind. We all have obligations at school, at home, at the office, even with our friends, so that sitting down to read a good book can be increasingly difficult.

Enter electronic books, or e-books, yet another revolution in print, or lack of it. Printing a real, leather-and-paper book can be expensive, so more and more publishers are turning to the e-book genre. Converting books to digital files is much cheaper than printing them in bulk and selling them to readers; now, readers can download books, read them on their computers, or print them on their printers. The cost of printing is thus transferred to readers, so that all that publishers have to worry about is how to market the books online.

If you are interested in earning money online, starting an e-books business might be good for you. This is a relatively new commodity, so there are many innovations you can still make in order to widen your market. All you need to know is what e-books you want to sell, how you are going to get those e-books, what the structure of your publishing outfit is, and what your payment and shipment scheme is.

What e-books do you want to sell? Do you want fiction? E-books also have their own legal jargon, so you need to know who holds the rights to the books that you are going to sell, and if you should secure copyrights for these e-books. If you know exactly what genres you will carry, you will also know exactly what market you will cater to. This is easy for fiction books, which already have their own markets. It can be more difficult for fiction books: you will need to carry out marketing studies to determine who reads what.

How are you going to get the e-books? Are you going to sell e-books that have already been sold before? You will need to check on your legal rights for redistribution, reprinting, and reselling. Are you going to ask for submissions from authors? You will need to assemble an acquisitions team, which will take care of submissions, edit the good ones, and prepare them for printing. In addition to this, you will need a graphics design team to lay out the books and make great covers. You also need a web publishing team to take care of your website design and security.

This brings us to the structure of your publishing outfit. Not only should you have a great editorial and layout team, you should also have a great marketing team. You need to not only have the best e-books to sell, you need a team that knows how to sell them. This can be difficult, especially since online marketing is more difficult to carry out, and you need to reach more people and convince them to strain their eyes on their computer screens reading a digital book, instead of going to the bookstore to get a printed one.

Lastly, you need to worry about payments and shipments. Are you going to send books through email, or will clients download them from a secure server? How will clients pay for their purchases? You may need to have a new business account to accept payments for the e-books, so get your documents read for this new e-book business. With the right structure, plans that are followed through, and a great e-book collection, you can earn money through your e-book store online.
